Larimer County's Wood Collection Yard at Stove Prairie to Open June 2
The Larimer County wood collection yard at Stove Prairie will open on Saturday, June 2. Larimer County and the Stove Prairie site are partners with Peak to Peak Wood. The Stove Prairie site is located on the Colard property, south of the Stove Prairie School along County Road 27. The collection site will be open exclusively on Saturdays, June 2nd through June 30th. Hours will be 9:00am- 4:00pm. You can visit the Peak to Peak Wood web site at www.peaktopeakwood.org for log specifications. The log work is done by hand and larger logs can be a problem at the site. 1. Logs 8ft. 4in. or longer are preferred though shorter logs will be accepted.2. No stumps or rotting logs will be accepted.3. Branches are to be cut flush with the logs, no pig ears.4. No slash will be accepted.In the past Larimer County operated two sites, this one at Stove Prairie and the other in the Red Feather Lakes area. The Red Feather Lakes site has been transferred to Slash Solutions, a private entity. You can visit their web site at www.slashsolutionsllc.com for information on that site.
